I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. Everyone was very friendly and understanding of my gluten allergy. They showed me on the menu what is safe for me to eat. I had the mild chicken karahi which honestly I could’ve made it a medium because it wasn’t spicy at all and didn’t have that much flavor. I would come back to try their other dishes.

#1 Indian Restaurant in Metro Detroit Great atmosphere, has an upscale appearance but street food pricing. They offer a ton of options and the portions are very big. The customer service is THE BEST at ANY restaurant I have ate at, period. They are very attentive and appreciative, this was my second visit and they remember us even after it has been a few weeks. If you haven’t tried Star of India, you haven’t lived. Anytime you crave Indian, crave Star of India!

My partner and I finally had the opportunity to try this place just before Thanksgiving and it did not disappoint! This is some of the best food, full stop. We were so impressed that we brought the rest with us on our trip out of town because we did not want to waste it, and it is delicious cold as well. The service is far and beyond above anything I have ever experienced. Presumably the owner, greeted us effusively and is such a pleasant and genuine person, simply a beautiful spirit and it was an absolute pleasure interacting with him. I can not recommend this restaurant enough.

I RARELY write reviews, but I could not pass up on this one. LISTEN TO ME‼️ If you are looking for an Indian restaurant with amazing food, LOOK NO FURTHER!!! This was my husband’s and I very first time and EVERYTHING, did you hear that??!! EVERYTHING about it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! I am definitely a foodie and I love and appreciate GREAT FOOD. We thanked God in advance for our wonderful food and service. When I tell you He answered every single request. You better know that God is REAL!!! We fell in love with every single bite!! They treated us with a sample of their delicious MANGO LASSI (mango flavored yogurt shake) in a cute golden glass. We ordered their FRESH SQUEEZED LEMONADE AND FRESH MANGO JUICE to drink and ended up mixing them together, BAAAABY LISTEN!! We had the GARLIC CHEESE NAAN BREAD, thee BEST EVER!! The CHICKEN WINGS are homemade and SuuuuuuPER CRUNCHY!! For the Entree we ordered the STAR OF INDIA SPECIAL (chicken, lamb, and shrimp) with the most flavorful, fresh, and delicious basmati rice I’ve ever had. EVERYTHING WAS SEASONED TO PERFECTION!! We ate, and had to get 2 containers for our leftovers, (we split it). All of that food and both beverages for ONLY $40.06!! Their prices are definitely pocket friendly!! My husband and I both agreed that you can taste the LOVE IN EVERY SINGLE BITE. NO EXAGGERATION. Can you say Tears of Joy and Gratitude. Raz, his Wife and Family are truly a blessing to our tastebuds and community. I must note that they took over ownership Three Years ago, so if you’ve been anytime before that “YOU HAVE TO GIVE THEM ANOTHER TRY”!! They welcomed not only us, But EVERYONE that came in the door with GENUINE HEARTFELT LOVE AND KINDNESS. It was definitely not our last time going. We will be back again and again and AGAIN!! Do not sleep on them!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. I PROMISE!!!

Ordered delivery and found a piece of metal wire in the Chicken Tikka Masala. Uber refunded the dish. Then we found plastic / paper debris in the Paneer Tikka Masala. Uber fought to avoid refunding this. Super unhappy, can't see us ordering from here again. edit: I agree with the owner that what we found in the CTM was a staple (which did not come from our own bag - the bag had been disposed of before the curry container was opened) and that what we found in the PTM was an onion leaf/peel - which is a quality issue, not a safety issue. When I first bit into the staple, I thought it was a small bone and nearly swallowed it. I'm very glad I thought better of it. The food tastes pretty good, but we stand by our decision not to eat here again.
