Workouts are great, the environment is super welcoming, and the coaches are attentive and knowledgeable to help you get better at lifts. Super fun place to work out, we were nervous about starting CrossFit at first but everyone welcomed us immediately. Highly encourage anyone who's thinking about joining to take the plunge, try a free week, and give it a shot! Joining has been an extremely positive development in our lives--we've been members for about a 10 months now and are going strong!

I love love love the community here! I'm treated like a person, not just a member or a number. I get individual attention and assistance. The coaches are amazing! I've been sedentary for most of my adult life, of course, I was a bit nervous before committing, but the coaches are very encouraging! They are knowledgable and have a good idea of what I am capable of, so they offer up suggestions for scaling the workout and doing what works for me. Their big focus (from my perspective) is on mobility, form/technique and proper warm-up before hitting the workout hard, which is super important especially for sedentary folks like myself. I've never worked out as much with a regular globo gym membership, it's really nice to be able to go to HCS and workout with others, grow together and have other folks hold me accountable. I started Oct 2020 and happy to say I'm doing some of the workouts RX now! Still have SO much to learn and I'm looking forward to improving and gaining new skills. Lastly, the olympic lifting add-on classes are AWESOME!

I love everything about HCS! I had never done crossfit in my entire life and was pretty out of shape so I felt wildly unprepared and self conscious when I first joined and, but everyone is so welcoming and encouraging! The coaches are very knowledgeable and provide great movements to scale down or accommodate for any injuries you have while still pushing you to your limits. And for the more seasoned folks, they provide great feedback on your lifting form and adjustments to increase your performance. Classes take you through warmups and movement prep before diving in to the daily workout. Working out has never been so easy! Having an absolute blast at HCS!

Good gym for beginners. The coaches are fantastic and good at helping you get better and improve your basic skills. Their direction and daily workout plans will introduce you to CrossFit in a non-intimidating environment. Anyone looking to start working out needs to check this place out.

I spent a week near CrossFit HCS for work this Spring and I loved every moment I was able to drop in for WODs that week. Heather and Cam were my coaches Monday through Friday and they both brought a great energy, welcoming vibe, and an expertise to coaching that is too often lacking at many affiliates.
Throughout the week, they were focused on safe technique done within my limits and they offered equal parts encouragement and instruction. One day, I got scaled mid-workout (definitely the right call by Heather) and another day, I set a new PR, which has never happened when dropping in from my home box.
I really cannot praise them highly enough. The programming is thoughtful and well designed, the coaching is first rate, and the rest of the community was welcoming. Any time I am back anywhere near Ferndale, it's HCS for me.
