I’m sorry to have to write this review as Fly Trap has been one of my go to restaurants for many years. The experience I had for lunch today from start to finish was so disappointing. We waited over an hour to be seated. Once seated we then waited another 45 minutes for food. The food that we finally did receive was very bad. My daughter’s chicken was dark meat and looked old like it had been sitting for awhile. The fries were soggy and brown. The tofu even tasted bad like it wasn’t fresh either. It was overcrowded and extremely loud that we couldn’t even carry on a conversation. While I was walking out I heard two ladies saying they also didn’t like their food and it was so loud. I would look past the ambience for good food, so hopefully you can bring it back to life. It’s hard to pay high prices for a meal and experience and leave feeling that way.

The Fly Trap is truly a gem in Ferndale and has quickly become one of my weekend favorites! From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warm and quirky atmosphere. The service is always friendly and attentive, making each visit feel special.
I almost always have The Forager, a delicious egg scramble packed with spinach, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and gouda. Trust me, it’s absolutely yummy! Every bite was perfectly balanced and satisfying. One of the highlights of my meal is their homemade jellies – they add such a delightful touch.
As a fun bonus, The Fly Trap has a huge collection of unique salt and pepper shakers. Each table has a different set, and I love seeing which quirky combo I’ll get when I sit down. It’s a small detail, but it adds to the overall charm of the place.
Whether you’re looking for great food (and drinks), a cozy atmosphere, or just a fun dining experience, The Fly Trap is the perfect spot to start your weekend!

Really lives up to the hype! I had the crab cakes and eggs for breakfast and they were flavorful and crispy. My husband had the gingerbread waffles with syrup. I love they make their own jam and hot sauce; you can really taste the difference. Even though they were busy, our waitress was pleasant and attentive. I also received several refills on my coffee. Definitely recommend for a fun breakfast or brunch.

This place is really a hidden gem!! It's small and quirky and has tons of personality and charm hidden everywhere!! The staff was super friendly and relatable, the cooks came out on the floor smiling and look genuinely happy working here. It was really fast service and there were tons of healthy options and very different variety of foods. The menu was small but still had tons of great choices, they have special beverages like beer/ale and fancy coffees.
Also have their own line of Jams and Sauces!!
I'll definitely be back :)

I love the Green Eggs and Ham, which is scrambled eggs with cheese and pesto. SO GOOD! They also have the nicest staff!
